The Shelf Life International Meeting (SLIM) welcomes the submission of original research abstracts on any aspect of food packaging and shelf life. Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting the abstract.
Abstract Selection Criteria
SLIM reserves the ultimate right to select abstracts submitted for review by the Peer Reviewers based on quality factors, including scientific merit, innovation, practical application and consistency with conference topics.
Abstract Rules and Format - The SLIM conference is a forum for presenting new, original research findings.
- The abstracts must address the following:
Title
Authors
Affiliations
Main text, 250-300 Words:

Introduction: background information and statement of the goal or hypothesis.

Materials and methods: succinct summary of experiment procedures.

Results: effective presentation of the key results. Abstract without results will not be considered.

Conclusion: indicate the significance and application of the research findings.

Keywords: provide up to 5 keywords for indexing purposes

A registered author can present a maximum of two papers to be published in the Book of Abstracts, or a Special Issue of the Sustainable Food Technology. Abstracts and full papers submitted to the Congress will be published in the Abstract Book.
Abstract Review and Acceptance: If you have not received your disposition by April 30th, 2026, please contact the SLIM secretariat by email slimmeeting@slim2026.gal. It is the responsibility of the presenting author to ensure that he/she has a valid and available email address. Upon acceptance of the abstract, the SLIM organisation assumes that at least one of the authors will attend the conference.
